Thomas Jefferson was a very healthy person. During his life he said that he was sick with a mild fever only 3 times in his life and that it lasted only 1 day. It is also interesting to note that he did not drink hard liquor that his drinking consisted of tea and coffee in the morning and later in the day he drank malt beverage and cider. As the founder of the University of Virginia, Jefferson had a say in all aspects of its building and operations. He drew up the daily menu for the students. It was heavy on vegetables and fruits. Only the mid-day meal included a small portion of meat. I think it’s important to say that Thomas Jefferson lived to be 84 years old and his entire life was spent in good health.
In your pursuit to success it would be well to research thoroughly the life of Thomas Jefferson. He was an excellent example of what we as a people should emulate. When entertaining a group of Nobel Laureates, John F. Kennedy said that this was the greatest group of intellect in the White House since Jefferson dined and ate there alone. What a remark, I wonder how those Nobel Laureates felt about it. Do you think they felt put down? You might also find out that he was a man of science, a fine mathematician and astronomer. He was also considered an expert in anatomy, civil engineering, physics, mechanics, meteorology, architecture, and botany. He was able to read and write Greek, Latin, French, Spanish and Italian. He was also recognized as a pioneer in ethnology, geography, anthropology and paleontology. Do you think our kids could break away from the TV and study about the lives of these great men? Is it no wonder that he was able to rise to the position of President of this Great Nation? I am sad to say that I didn’t learn these things in school The reason I have learned these things is that years ago I realized that things were terribly wrong in our society and I set out to find out why. The answer is very basic, they have taken God out of our schools.
Even though Benjamin Franklin was a rascal with the ladies, he is another very intelligent person that accomplished much in his lifetime. For example we have our community fire departments because of this mans foresight and genius. You will find a lot about this man by reading his biography. You will truly be amazed as you read about this man. He also developed a personal self improvement plan for his life.
I hope that talking about these two famous people will get you into reading and surrounding yourself with successful people, even though it is just in books. What I have discussed here is just the very tip of the iceberg about these two people You have your computer and the internet at your fingertips to have the knowledge and resources of Universities. Take advantage of that and lift your self up to the next level and keep going. Formulate your plan to success.
