Victory Garden | 084

Victory Garden | 084

Do you oldsters remember the term Victory Garden? During the second world war our government urged all families to have a victory garden in order to help the war effort. I was 10 years old when the Second World War started and remember well the rationing and our government telling us that we should all show our patriotic loyalty by having a victory garden. For my family there wasn’t much of a change because we were on a farm and of course part of our farm was devoted to the family garden. We raised fruit and vegetables not to sell but to consume. I think that it would be a good idea to have everybody involved in victory gardening due to the fact that a solid home based business could develop from it. Food and plants are always in demand and fulfilling that demand on a nation wide basis is a tremendous job. There is room for all kinds of specialists in these areas. This would go a long way in destroying the monoculture system of farming and take that kind of system away from big business. The monoculture system of farming is what is destroying our farm lands by denuding and poisoning our soils.

It’s not a stretch to expand your agrarian activities into Plant Tissue Culture, The science of PTC has come out of the scientific laboratories and is entering the home kitchen and would be an ideal entry into the home based business activities. In the past some of the best things have come out of the home kitchens. As PTC develops I would expect that even greater things to develop in the future. The idea of having a home based laboratory can become a common reality. Growing things whether it is living or mechanical can and should be an exciting adventure.

If you think about it whether or not you are considering a home based business it is worth considering it as a hobby. Getting your kids involved in such activities can spur the development of the minds of our knowledge starved children. Not only could you be developing and growing new plants, you would also be growing and developing the young minds of the future. It could become your conversion to home schooling which is badly needed to replace our broken down rotting school system. Look at all the money that the nation could save by firing all those unqualified teachers. We don’t need them, what we need is to get rid of them.

At the bottom of this article are a couple links to further expand your ideas on developing your own home based business. Just click on them.
