Would you care to speculate how mankind lost his inner ability to make Vitamin C? It’s a very interesting topic. Why can goats create their own Vitamin C and we cannot? Did you know that a 160 pound goat creates about 13,000 mg of Vitamin C on a daily basis. How is it that a goat can do this but we cannot? The answer is that a goat has a gene that does the work for him and we don’t. Our gene is faulty. (Our Gene Is Faulty would make a good English Sit Com). Now it would seem to me that this could be corrected and all it would take would be one generation because once mankind had the fixed gene, he could pass it on to his offspring. Just think, a one time fix could manage that.

Just to creep out on a limb, I believe the reason we lost this ability to make our own Vitamin C is due to the Flood Of Noah. Not the flood itself but something that happened. If I remember my Sunday School Lessons I believe that mans days were shortened from 1000 years to 120 years at that time. As you may remember Noah lived to be nearly a thousand years old, but from then on, the days of man became shorter and shorter. What is it that could have caused this kind of destruction to our genes. Was it a supernatural act from God, or was it a poison of some kind? Is there some kind of food that is missing that maybe Noah forgot to bring over on the ark?

There is good news on the horizon, the scientists are already doing it with mice. They have successfully with the use of a non dangerous virus corrected the gene problem in the mice. These little mice are now producing their own Vitamin C. Do you realize how important that is to we humans? A one time shot in the arm and you won’t have to take your Vitamin C tablets or crystals anymore.

In addition, did you know that goats are producing the same material that spiders use for spinning their webs. Scientists have successfully transferred this gene that produces the material into the goat and bang. They aren’t spinning cobwebs, but the material that cobwebs are made from is produced in the goats milk. This characteristic has been passed down to the offspring and they now have second and third generation goats that produce this material in their milk. They plan on using it to produce bullet proof vests and who knows what all. What about replacing the human mothers gene into the goat to produce human mothers milk?

This leads me to wonder, how many other genes we should have that are missing or broken? Would you like to have the sense of smell that a polar bear has? Maybe we could borrow a gene from them, but then the long snout may go with it. I’m not sure, I think that I wouldn’t like that. Or would you like the eyesight of an eagle? Maybe we could have a third eye for this purpose. This is getting too wild, even for me.
